If you dig nachos, Las Cruces, NM may be the place to be. The city may just land in the Guinness book of World Records for making the largest serving of nachos in the world. It clocked in at more than 5,000 pounds. I measured 110-feet long, used over 900 pounds of chips, 600 pounds of salsa and 2,2oo pounds of cheese. That doesn’t include the ground beef, beans and sour cream.
It was all part of the Noche de Nacho event and amazingly. Only time will tell if the monstrous appetizer will make it in the Guinness Book. It has been submitted and they people who review these kinds of claims will research it. At this point, the record holder belongs to a sports bar in Kansas, as they served up a Nacho plate that was over 4,800 pounds.
