One of the four C’s of Paisley… COWBOY BOOTS! But I’m making an exception to that C and including rain boots in there! With all the rain we’ve seen the past few days, I thought way not learn something interesting, instead of posting funny cow videos that I’m probably the only person who appreciates it!
If you haven’t already figured this out yet, I’m a five year old at heart, so yes… I jump in every puddle I see and yes… I have the most adorable rain boots ever. (In a high pitched 5 year old voice) They have horses on them!!! (Big smile emoji here)! I did some research on the history of rain boots and this is what I came up with!
They were originally manufactured in Britain during the 19th century. Wellington was the name of the company that made them and they were originally made out of leather. (Disclaimer) I’m not sure how well leather would hold up in the rain, but I wasn’t around during that time to tell them other wise! (Disclaimer Over)
Like everything else, the patent was eventually sold and people got smarter (or technology got better[ laughing emoji here]), which changed how they were made. The new owner moved over to making these boots out of rubber, if you ask me, was the smart thing to do.
These boots were extremely popular during World War I and World War II. Soldiers could keep their feet dry while out in the field, which made many people invest in these lovely pieces of heaven. Now, they are popular because they are a fashion statement!
Like everything else in life, many many many moons ago, the boots only came in three colors, which makes living in 2018 that much better. Now Hunter Boots come in hundreds of different colors, patterns and styles and Hunter’s isn’t the only company that manufactures them! Mom and dad if you are reading this, I would like the yellow Hunter boots, or the cow print boots for Christmas (Winking emoji here)!!
I’m sorry to all my past English professors who are reading this! I did not use proper MLA format! Ooops! Back on track… if you want to check out more on the history of rain boots you can by clicking here!
