The following is why you can’t just walk out of Target with just one thing. Simple fact, the store has been laid out to tickle your senses. No kidding. They have made it so you are more likely to make impulse buys.
Take for example, in West Burlington, you walk into the Target and see Starbucks on one side, but the…the $1 items. I mean, who can resist? After all, it is only $1. We all have $1. Then before you know it, you are $100 in after you bought the item you came for.
According to Target’s marketing department:
“Our in-store shopping experience facilitates a sense of inspiration and discovery through visual merchandising and curated product collections, while still making it easy for guests who want to stop in for a quick trip.”
This, however, isn’t exclusive only to Target, Amazon does it and so does Costco.
Think you can resist it? Try saying “No” to $1 Paw Patrol items or happy snowmen or those glass jars that could contain candy…
