This is literally one of your most favorite movie characters in real life.
39 year old Rob Pope from the U.K. was watching Forrest Gump on TV. The movie was starting to inspire Rob, he remembered a line his mother told him, ““do one thing in life that makes a difference.”
Rob had an idea to do what Forrest did…
This was actually back in 2016, where Rob was living in Alabama. He decided to run across the country just like he saw Forrest do in the movie. It’s so incredibly close to the fictional story: Rob wore clothes similar to Forrest and he was the same age as Tom Hanks when he starred in the film.
Rob ran from Alabama to California, all the way to Maine and then ending in California where he proposed to him girlfriend, Nadine. It’s not the same ending… but I can deal with this alternative.
Everybody loved the London Marathon's Forrest Gump. Here is his story… 🏃🙌

In total, he ran about 590 marathons. He took on 40 miles a day, over 15,500 miles. It was a 422 day journey.
Rob says after the birth of their daughter, he knew his family meant everything in the world to him. That’s when he decided he wanted to tie the know with Nadine as well.
Not only is Rob creating and reaching outstanding personal goals, his run also benefited charities: World Wildlife Foundation and Peace Direct.
He was able to raise $50,000.
