Every so often an adult beverage sounds good and you may imbibe, but there are some places across the our country where the population REALLY likes to consume the fire water. There are 2 studies that were done recently to determine what states consume the most beer. One demonstrates the how many gallons of beer is consumed per capita (how much per person) and the other demonstrates the total amount consumed by total gallons for the state. Some of the results may surprise you.
Good news for Iowa and Missouri, we don’t rank in the Top 10 in the USA, but Illinois, I am not sure if condolences or congratulations are most appropriate.
|RANK||STATE||GALLONS PER CAPITA|
As you can see Iowa, Illinois and Missouri don’t even rank in the Top 10, but when you look at the map above, Iowa consumes more beer per person than it’s neighbors to the East…by quite a bit. So that means, the people who do drink in Iowa REALLY like to drink. And if you look the to the West…we all 3 look good in comparison.
Now let’s look at the total amount of beer each state consumes in total. (Keep in mind, there is quite a difference in population, so that does have an effect on these numbers)
Like I said above, the sheer number of people in each state have an effect…however, it doesn’t take into account the snobs that drink wine…with that said, I raise this 12oz, in your honor
