We have 50 states and every state has a “fun” level. WalletHub recently did a survey based on the level of “fun” for each state. For example, California is ranked #1 for fun and West Virginia is ranked #50.
We can all agree California has Disneyland, Knotts Berry Farms, beautiful coasts to see and swim, they have mountains to observes, climb and ski. Plus you have the culture of San Francisco. So we can see why it would be #1.
Now West Virginia is ranked #50 because it has…well…I don’t know what it has. I think that is the point of the ranking.
Now the Tri-State are of Iowa, Illinois and Missouri has various rankings, as well. We, obviously aren’t #1 and that is ok. As you can see from the map below, Illinois is ranked #5, Missouri is ranked #14 and Iowa is ranked #29.
The rankings included the elements of restaurants per capita, where Illinois beats all 3 states in the Tri-State. It ranks #5 out all 50 states. Illinois also ranks #3 in most Performing Arts Theaters. So it makes sense why Illinois has such a high ranking.
On the flip side, Illinois ranks #48 in Access to National Parks.
Iowa, we know our overall ranking is less than stellar, but you rank #4 for most movie theaters per capita, #3 for Golf Courses and Country Clubs in the nation. Because of these Top 5 rankings, it makes one wonder makes Missouri rank so much higher than Iowa, considering that Missouri doesn’t rank in the Top 5 in any category.
What do you think?
