I’ve flown multiple times, going plenty of places. I can admit one thing that drives me crazy on an airplane: a crying baby and/or rowdy children.
It’s horrible. Sometimes the parent is doing absolutely nothing about it, and then other times, you feel horrible for the mother/father for having to deal with issues like that.
In this case.. I felt bad for the mom. But, luckily she had a guardian angel on her shoulder.
Jessica Rudeen was flying with her two children, a 4 month old and a 3 year old. She was having trouble nursing her 4 month old and her other child became increasingly agitated. Jessica started to lose all control.
Before that happened though, the man sitting next to her, Todd, offered to help out.
He starts playing, coloring, and talking with the young girl … anything to keep her distracted and in-check while Jessica feeds her infant son.
Not only that … but here comes the miracle: Jessica and Todd were scheduled to be on the same connecting flight as well. And Todd is such a nice guy that he offered to switch seats with the other passenger in Jessica’s row to continue to help her with the children.
Jessica says at the end of the day, it was like her daughter had a new best friend.
“Todd, showed me kindness and compassion that I’ve never known from another person,” she said. “I am blown away by God’s hand in this because we could have been placed next to anyone, but we were seated next to one of the nicest men I have ever met in my life.”
Luckily, Jessica was able to find him and get in touch with him after getting off the plane. Todd lives in Kansas. This clearly has been getting quite the buzz.
For me… I need to have this kind of attitude going forward.
