Anyone remember Happy Gilmore. The premise was a hockey player tries to reinvent himself as a golfer, which brings a lot of excitement to the game.
No offense to golfers, but to watch a golf tournament can be quite boring. Not because the game is a drag, but it is slow, quiet and filled with a lot of classy behaviors. As a lover of more…full-body contact sports, I was excited when there was a bit of mayhem tossed into golf recently with people shouting the call-and-response phase “Dilly Dilly” during the tournaments.
If you are not familiar with the phrase “Dilly Dilly”…
Well…it looks like the overly pretentious Masters gold tournament is coming up and they want none of the shenanigans of those who call “Dilly Dilly” during the tournament. and they have declared that anyone who says the phrase will be “removed immediately.”
Since the phrase is in reference to Bud Light, the promotion department with the Budweiser company was not taking this as seriously as the PGA had a response to the Masters’s declaration with a declaration of their own mocking the situation.
The only question left unanswered that will soon learn is how many people will be removed? We shall find out starting today and throughout the weekend.
I am hoping a lot. THAT will make for some great TV.
