Have you ever struggled with being motivated at work? If you answered no .. where do you work? I’d like to be there, too.
Clearly, at one point or another, virtually everybody has been unmotivated to do their work. Whatever the reason is, it’s pretty easy to get stuck in a rut. Turns out, there’s something out there that can jump start the employee’s motivation, at least for the rest of the day: pizza.
It actually is shown to increase productivity more than cash bonuses and good compliments.
Workers at a plant in Israel were separated into groups. One group was given pizza, another cash, another got compliments from their boss, and the last group got nothing for their work.
Surprisingly, they found pizza to be the biggest motivating factor for these workers. On that particular day, productivity went up about 7 percent by the workers who received pizza!
However, it’s worthy to note that after a few weeks, the pizza stopped having it’s desired effect and compliments from the boss were actually more powerful. So, if you want some short term inspiration, get some Casey’s! Every time my boss walks by the studio with some pie, I know it’s game time!
