Meat lovers, today is all about your fork and balls of meat. Yes, it is National Meatball Day.
Now, before you get all excited (or, yes, I see that one person who is shaking their head in disbelief), there are many ways people are celebrating this amazing day. One restaurant in New York City is serving up a $100 meatball with glass of wine. Talk about rolling in the dough (or beef, as the case may be)
Before you choke on the ridiculousness of the idea that a meatball dinner could cost so much, you must see it. (see below)
It looks delicious doesn’t it? Well, this isn’t just ANY meatball. Imagine this, you are eating waygo beef, struffles stuffed with truffle caciocavallo cheese and foie gras. So this isn’t some pansy meatball made of ground beef and a variety of kitchen seasonings. No, this is Diamond level meatballing. Oh, and if you want to dive into the beef end of this, you should have ordered it 24 hours in advance.
However, there are many other places that serve up the little balls of meat for your spaghetti or Swedish style, paired with the obligatory cocktail weenie. Then again, you can just make the meatballs on your own and call it a day.
