Parents who have children understand that when their kids get to be teenagers, they are going to continue to grow and eat them out of house and home.
Imagine having a 16 year old who has been deemed the tallest teenager in the world. That dubious honor goes to Brandon Marshall, who stands 7’4″…and according to his doctors, he isn’t done growing. Just so you have a clear picture of what he and his parents are dealing with, he has grown and extra 5 inches in the last 12 months.
The irony is that his friends call him “Tiny”. However, his parents claim that “Tiny” has a super king bed, which still isn’t enough to contain his massive lengths, so they are having a specially made 8 foot bed. As you can imagine his clothing size has to be specially made for him, as well. Keep this in mind, as the body grows, so do feet. Brandon wears a size 17 shoe.
So why is this young man growing so tall at such a rapid rate. According to doctors, Brandon is missing chromosome 12, which is known as the height cropper chromosome. How the family discovered their son was growing at a rapid rate was his massive growth spurt at the age of 13, where he shot up to 6′.
Brandon’s brothers and sisters are of normal height so, this is not a genetic issue, as far as height is concerned.
Oh…and yes, he does play basketball. Maybe the Bulls will draft him from England to play…Lord knows they need it.
