After Halloween, I don’t know about your home, but the candy is all fun and exciting for the kids, for about a week…and then it sits around until Easter.
So what do you do with all of this, unopened, uneaten and perfectly good candy? Toss it, right?
Hold up! You can actually do something really cool, that will make a lot of people happy and your kids will probably get into it, as well.
It is called Troop Treats.
This organization does a lot of great fund raising for our men and women of the military stationed overseas.
This particular time of year can be something special for our troops, makes the kids feel good and makes lots of parents happy that the dental bills will severely be cut, as the sugar is out of the house by sending all of your uneaten candy to the troops. It is a nice box of “home” for them, just as a reminder that we are thinking of them, as they serve our country.
What is even cooler is that, even if you don’t have any candy to give the troops, Amazon has created a place to ship 100 non-perishable items to the troops in the Persian Gulf.
Check the links above and see what you can do to give back to those who give all for our freedom.
