Ex-ESPN broadcaster Ed Cunningham says the reason he couldn’t do his job anymore was because of the way Iowa’s coaches handled C.J. Beathard in the Outback Bowl against Florida.
Or at least that was the straw that broke the camel’s back.
Ed said, “It’s not that I kind of felt bad for C.J. Beathard, I wanted to go get in a fist fight with the coaches over it because they abused that kid, flat-out.” He also wanted to ask the coaches why they would do that to a kid?
As I recall, C.J. wanted to stay out there as long as he possibly could. Kirk Ferentz and the University of Iowa are trending on Twitter for their response. Even C.J.’s dad weighed in.
