Fort Madison, IA – The 4th Annual Fort Madison Day at Carver Hawkeye Arena is set for Sunday, December 22, 2013. We will be in the stands, cheering, as Iowa takes on Arkansas – Pine Bluff. Three stations have the option to broadcast the game, and the broadcasting station will be announced 2-3 weeks in advance of game day.
The Fort Madison Area Chamber of Commerce Ambassador Club has worked with University of Iowa Athletics to secure premium seating for our group. On Thursday, November 14th at 7:00 AM, tickets go on sale at the Partners offices located at 614 9th Street, Fort Madison.
In 2011, 431 people attended the inaugural Fort Madison Day; in 2012, 504 attended. “The University Of Iowa Athletics Department continues to support Fort Madison Day, and reserved at least 500 seats for us” says Hawkeye Day Event Chair Jason Samples. A limited quantity of discounted tickets are available to the general public with no pre-sales being accepted. The first 150 children’s tickets will be available for $5 each (ages 18 and under). The first 150 adult tickets will be available for $10 each.
Numerous sponsors have stepped forward which has allowed us to offer an early Christmas gift to families in the Christmas for Kids program. “What a wonderful opportunity this is for some well deserving families. It is a pleasure to work in such a caring and generous community” says Laura Francisco, Chamber Events Coordinator.
Sponsorship opportunities are still available for businesses who wish to participate. Sponsors to date include: Ameriprise-Josh Denning, Burrows Paper Corporation, Floors Décor & More, Fort Madison Bank and Trust, Fort Madison Community Hospital, Fort Madison Family Dentistry, Group Benefit Partners, Hope Real Estate, Huffman Welding and Machine, Johnson Trucking, King-Lynk Funeral Homes, Lee County Bank and Trust, MidAmerican Energy, Pilot Grove Savings Bank, Scotts Miracle-Gro, Seither and Cherry, Shottenkirk GM Giant, Tristate Eye Care, and Two Rivers Insurance in Fort Madison.
All ticket purchases come with a complimentary tee shirt, which attendees are encouraged to wear to the game. “We have a new design this year, and I’m sure that all of those Fort Madison shirts will make quite an impact in the arena” says Jessica Holtkamp, a Hawkeye Day committee member & this year’s logo designer. As always, the University does their best to offer a few perks for the Fort Madison crowd. Several perks are being negotiated with University of Iowa Athletics, and updates will be announced as game day approaches.
To ensure prompt ticket and tee shirt delivery, this opportunity to purchase tickets runs through December 2nd at 2PM. Ticket orders after December 2nd will need to be processed through the Hawkeye Box Office.
