OLD FORT MADISON’S
SPRING RENDEZVOUS AND SIEGE
APRIL 13-15, 2012
Join Old Fort Madison commemorating bicentennial of the start of the War of 1812 in Iowa, April 13-15, 2012. Experience trader and Native American encampments, battle skirmishes, military drill and open hearth cooking as well as other demonstrations throughout the weekend. Walk through a special traveling exhibit containing thousands of stone Native American artifacts. At 1:30 PM on April 14, site manager Dr. Eugene Watkins will give a lecture in the fort on Fort Madison and the War of 1812.
Help keep Iowa’s early history alive by supporting the Old Fort’s volunteer fundraiser pancake breakfast on April 14 between 7:00 and 9:00 AM in front of the gift shop. The cost for the breakfast is $4.00 for adults and $2.00 for children 14 and under.
