THE DALLAS CITY CELEBRATION TRADITION CONTINUES; FRIDAY, SATURDAY, SUNDAY JULY 26TH-28TH

 

The City of Dallas City, IL continues their Summer Celebration tradition with another weekend of fun highlighted by a beautiful lighted boat parade.

 The celebration starts the evening of Friday, July 26th, with the annual Alumni Party at Ike’s Riverfront Tavern beginning at 6:00 pm.  Graduates and former instructors of Dallas City High School are urged to attend.  Food will be available and there will be plenty of time for visiting and partying.  Everyone is welcome.  At dusk, there will be a Lighted Boat Parade, viewable from the riverfront area surrounding the elevator.

 Saturday, July 26thkicks off with a new event, a 5K Run/Walk.  Registration starts at Ike’s at 7:00 am; the run starts at 7:45 am.  The annual parade will again be part of the festivities, starting at 9:30 am.  The local Boy Scouts will be serving lunch at the township building following the parade, and we’ll have kids’ games at the city tennis courts at 11:45 am.  A fish/chicken fry will be held at Hagy’s Bar and Grill, from 5:00 to 7:00 pm.

 The activities on Sunday begin with a Sausage/Gravy Breakfast at Ike’s Riverfront Tavern, starting at 7:00 am.  Drive in, or boat in, but be sure to join us for breakfast.  Enjoy a Worship Service and Christian Music Festival, beginning at 10:30 am at the Dallas City Rec Park, and then get ready for the Annual Duck Race at 6:00 pm.  Be sure to get a Duck for only $5.00 so you can be part of the fast-paced competition!
