District 18 ABATE of Iowa will sponsor its ninth annual Mystery Ride on Saturday, July 20, to raise money for Great River Hospice in West Burlington and Lee County Hospice in Fort Madison. Motorcycles and automobiles may participate in this public event.
The route will be given on ride day. Participants will search for hidden objects along the way to complete the “mystery” portion of the ride.
The Mystery Ride will start at Crazy Coyote, Burlington, Iowa, rain or shine. Participants can register and pay the $5 ABATE member/$7 non member entry fee from 10:30 a.m. until the Noon start time. Ride t-shirts are on sale now and day of event from ABATE members for $15.
The ride will end by 6 p.m. at The Bonneville Lounge, Danville, Iowa. The public is invited to join ride participants at the restaurant for food, a raffle, a live auction and entertainment to follow auction by the Kross Kountry Band. Proceeds from each of these activities will benefit local hospice programs.
ABATE, A Brotherhood Aimed Towards Education, is a not-for-profit organization of motorcyclists. Lee County Health Department-Hospice and Great River Hospice are also not-for-profit organizations. The money raised at the mystery ride will help to provide hospice services for the uninsured or underinsured residents in southeast Iowa and West Central Illinois.
