BURLINGTON – The Des Moines County Humane Society knows this time of year is

stressful, with presents to buy, treats to bake, and family visits for which to prepare.

Let DMCHS help with your holidays!

Bone Appetit: Holiday Favorites for You and Your Pet is

the perfect stocking stuffer or Secret Santa gift. The 4x5

cookbook is small enough to be tucked into a stocking, but

do not let the small size fool you. It includes 80 recipes

perfect for the holidays, from appetizers and side dishes,

to cakes and cookies sure to please everyone.

And the four-legged family members are not forgotten.

Fido will be happy with pumpkin and peanut butter treats,

barley burgers, and a turkey dinner. Feline treats will make

even the pickiest cat purr with delight.

Cookbooks cost $10, with all proceeds benefiting the Des

Moines County Humane Society. They can be purchased

at the Burlington Animal Shelter (2500 Summer Street)
