The Burlington Bel Canto Chorale will present its annual performance of Lessons and Carols on Saturday, December 1 at 7:00 p.m. and Sunday, December 2 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Paul’s Catholic Church, 508 N. 4th Street, Burlington, Iowa. The Shoquoquon Children’s Chorale will also perform. Lessons will be read by over 40 community members. New this year: No tickets required, however, limited seating is available. Arrive early for best seating.


Members of the Bel Canto Chorale will also sing songs of the season at Farmers & Merchants Bank & Trust on Friday, December 14th at 4:00 pm and at the Burlington Public Library on December 15th at 2:00 p.m.


The Bel Canto Chorale, meaning “beautiful singing,” is made up of 40 voices, hailing from many communities in southeast Iowa. The Chorale is directed by Southeastern Community College Dean of Arts and Sciences and Director of Choral Activities, Dr. Timothy Ahern, with pianist Leigh Pirtle.
