Old Fort Madison is commemorating the 200th Anniversary of the four day siege that occurred here in September 1812 on September 8-9, 2012. There will be three battle scenarios, one at 1:30 PM on Saturday, September 8 and two on Sunday, September 9, at 10:00 AM and at 1:30 PM. In addition, the Lewis and Clark Fife and Drum Corps will be here throughout the weekend playing period fife and drum music. There will also be a display of pre-contact, stone Native artifacts, a vendor selling Elk and Bison burgers, an old-time photographer, and a display of fort and battlefield artifacts provided by the Office of the State Archeologist of Iowa.
