LAHARPE, Ill. -- The LaHarpe Summerfest will be held Wednesday through Sunday, July 25-29, in the park. Nightly suppers will be held in air-conditioned Masonic Lodge on the east side of the park. In the case of inclement weather, all programs will be held in the Community Club House. A commemorative button is available for $5 which enters the buyer into nightly drawings.
Highlights of the event include:
º Wednesday: Barbecue beef supper at 4 p.m.; Jim Inman and the Westerners, 7:30 p.m. º Thursday: Fish supper at 4:30 p.m., frog-jumping contest at 6:30 p.m., Common Bond band at 7:30 p.m.
º Friday: Free hearing clinic at Christian church, 9 am.-1 p.m.; First State customer appreciation picnic, 11 a.m.-1 p.m.; chicken supper at 4:30 p.m.; turtle races, 6:30 p.m.; King Family band, 7:30 p.m.; teen dance on basketball court, 9:30 p.m.
º Saturday: Breakfast, 7-10 a.m. in Masonic Lodge; one block kids race, 9 a.m.; kids games, 10 a.m.; lunch in park at 10:30 a.m.; parade, 11 a.m.; pedal tractor pull, noon; golf tournament, 1 p.m.; barbecue pork chop supper, 4:30 p.m.; Country Mountain Music band, 7:30 p.m.
º Sunday, July 29: Hometown Harmonies in Union Church at 3 p.m.
