Food Drive

– A rare gathering this summer of 20 professional performers from throughout the country and 3 from Great Britain will present to area residents and visitors “Our Story Goes On,” a musical production that celebrates family and the enduring cycle of our lives. Accomplished musicians, composers, singers and actors, who comprise the core cast of the Nauvoo Pageant, will blend their talents to present the show, which features an insightful narrative interwoven with beloved Broadway and American classics including numbers from the Wizard of Oz, Fiddler on the Roof, Disney’s Hercules, Josh Groban, and American folk songs, as well as original compositions prepared especially for this year’s performance.


            “Our Story Goes On” will be performed each Sunday from July 1-29 in area cities. On July 15th, this heartwarming production will be held at the newly renovated Capitol Theater and Performing Art Center located at 211 N. 3rd St. in Downtown Burlington, IA at 7:00 PM.   Tickets are not required and there is no cost to attend however canned food and other free will donations will be accepted and appreciated to benefit the work of the Salvation Army and the St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantries.  Other performances will be in Naperville, IL on July 1st ,  Memphis, MO on July 8th, in Carthage, IL on July 22nd and in Nauvoo, IL on July 29th .


            Absolutely all donations will stay in the Burlington area and be divided between the Salvation Army and the St. Vincent de Paul food pantry.  No part of the free will donations will be used towards the cost of the production, rental of the Capital Theater, or any other associated expense.  Every dollar that is donated and every food item that is received will benefit the local Burlington area community.
