If you have $632,000 at your disposal and you want a new car, how about a Ferrari 458? One lady in China did and she decided to go out with her friend and get one, sans a test drive.
To set the scene, this was a very rainy day after a dry spell. As many of us know, that means oil comes to the top and makes things a bit slick. You would think that traction control would help with this…that is if you don’t disengage it.
Having never driven a Ferrari, the woman in question purchased the care; signed, sealed and delivered. Within minutes, as most younger people do, she turned on the camera on her phone to show her friends her newest edition to the family while at a stop light. This was just moments after she left the dealership. In the USA, we have traffic camera in certain places, but in China, they have cameras everywhere to capture everything…and what happened next, was caught on camera.
The airbags did deploy and thankfully, no one was hurt…except maybe a few bruised egos. However, within moments of driving off the lot, the car was a complete loss. No word on if insurance is covering this.
