Kids and lemonade stands are as traditional as baseball, hot dogs and apple pie. It is almost like a rite of passage with adolescents for them to start a business and make money doing something that is in-demand…serving a cold beverage on a hot day.
Believe it or not, this tradition is under threat in many communities. You hear about it every so often that a kid’s lemonade stand is shut down by a city/municipality for serving food without the proper documentation (the very reason that radio stations no longer server pizza at every live broadcast.) Most recently there were 2 stands in 2 different locations shut down. The stands were in Denver, CO and Overton, TX. In each case a fine of $125 was levied against the kids for serving food without getting clearance from these insane laws.
While you may be screaming obscenities at reading this, (as we do every year when these stories appear) this issue is becoming more and more common.
But wait…Enter Country Time Lemonade.
Because of the increase in fines to children serving lemonade, Country Time Lemonade has stepped up and has made the decision to help these children pursue their dreams of business ownership.
