When you read a headline like that, a lot of people will call BS. A large group of people will say, they know it is coming in their lifetime, but not in less than 2 years. Hate to burst your bubble, but it does look like UBER, the rideshare company who has been experimenting with self-driving taxi service in many towns, has a plan to launch flying cars to take you from place to play. This means, no (or less) traffic, make it more affordable than using a car service and much quieter, as these flying cars are 100% electric.
This futuristic transportation has been in development for quite some time with the help of NASA for air traffic control. As you may have heard in the news, UBER has been dogged by problems with self-driving cars (one recently killing someone in Phoenix, AZ), so there is a bit of skepticism if this new plan of transportation will happen, much less work properly. At this point, they are planning on having pilots, with each vehicle carrying up to 4 passengers.
The first official test of the Flying UBER will be sometime in 2020. the future may be here now.
