Up until now, the biggest locations to see dinosaur remains as been Alberta in Canada, Utah in the USA, Sichuan in China, Brijuni Island in Croatia and the Natural History Museum in London. Now, you can add Skye, Scotland to that list.
It was just discovered that the Sauropod in Scotland was the largest dinosaur that lived over 170 million years ago. It had been though that the Tyrannosaurus was the largest dinosaur. But the Sauropod has usurped the Tyrannosaurus by being over 50 feet tall. It had a long neck and has a massive footprint, which is what lead geologists to seek more information when the footprint was discovered in Scotland.
There are a lot more places, obviously, that dinosaurs have been discovered. If you have some time, the link to the PDBD website has some very interesting information on the discoveries around the world. A lot of it is above my head, but even the basic information should make us all take pause and appreciate that our planet has a lot of history that we are still learning about.
