I used to work at a sports bar for 3 years. I’ve never found anything as much as $1,500 inside of a purse .. or anywhere for that matter. The most I found was a really nice pair of Ray Bands. And I turned them in! I put them up by the host stand (which is where you put items lost and found) but the guy never ended up coming back and claiming them. They were nice sunglasses too ….
Seriously though… $1,500 CASH in a purse?! It really says a lot about the character of the person who turned in the purse. It happened to be a busboy at a local Wendy’s in Florida.
19 year old Matt Cureton found the purse while cleaning a table. He didn’t think twice before handing the purse to a manager. He didn’t look inside, because he didn’t care. It wasn’t his property, so why should he?
The couple who owned the purse, Francis and Peggy Humanick, cancelled their cards and drove all the way back to the Wendy’s where they left it, about 80 miles away. They quickly found all $1,500 in cash still inside the purse, safe and sound.
Peggy was so grateful, she ended up giving Matt $100!
