Rebecca Powley from Ontario and her 11 year old son were on a city bus last week on their way to the airport to catch their holiday flight. This was the first one she had been on in 25 years and she picked on hell of a day.
Rebecca was texting her husband, ironically about how amazing the bus was, when it started to veer off the road a bit. Rebecca hears a women scream at the bus driver and ask if he was okay, but there was no response.
She only had seconds to think and react or else who knows what could or would have happened. The driver was completely knocked out and slumped over the wheel, so Rebecca went under the steering to take his foot off of the gas and she gently lifted him off the steering wheel so she could control the bus to a stop.
Amazingly, nobody was injured and thankfully, the driver is okay. Evidently, he had some medical condition that makes him pass out while driving buses .. so he probably shouldn’t do that anymore.
Ontario Northland, the company that owns the bus, will now give Rebecca free rides. And, to top it off, they’re flight was delayed so they didn’t miss a thing!
