As we have learned, guns are the hottest gift for adults this year, but as a parent, I have racking my brain trying to figure out what the hottest toy of the year is. Yes, Hatchimals are popular again this year. But I just learned of Fingerlings.
Yes, I am probably late to the part on this…but follow me.
Once I learned of these little finger grabbing creatures (or as many of us would call them: finger puppets), I went on my quest to find them, only to learn, they have been swept off the shelves by parents who were much more in-touch with popular children’s items than I.
These little creatures make noises, move, blink and respond to touch and sound. They come in 6 different animals and colors, like monkeys, unicorns and a sloths.
So how did these little toys become so popular so quickly? Simple answer technology and price. The technology now allows the animatronics to be small enough and then the price is between $12 and $24, so they aren’t killing the pocketbook, like the Hatchimal from last year (and still popular this year, BTW). So, if you can find them around the SE Iowa, Western Illinois or Northern Missouri, you may want to stock up, as they are now selling on ebay for 2-3 times their original price.
