A police officer from Kansas City has done something amazing for a child with special needs.
9 year old Eric Hetlage has cerebral palsy and he hasn’t been able to do the physical activities like other kids his age. His mom, Sarah, says he just wants to have fun with other kids and laugh and play.
When local officers heard about Eric, one decided to use his creative skills. Detective Parker with the KCK Police Department, he’s got a cool name, built Eric a police car that attaches to his wheelchair. He made it complete with a steering wheel, a logo, red and blue lights, and he even made Eric his own police uniform.
On Halloween, Parker invited Eric to the police department to trick or treat and talk to the other officers. It’s a heartwarming story of an officer doing what he is capable of doing to make sure that a young boy gets what he deserves.
There’s nothing better than see a child smile.
I promised myself I wouldn’t cry!
