If you haven’t tried eating Ramen Noodles, I dare you to do it without making some kind of slurping sound, regardless if you eat it as a soup or just a noodle bowl without broth.
Where this really becomes an issue is when you are eating around someone who has Misphonia, the rage created in someone who hears mouth noises from other people (like chewing, breathing, snoring, slurping).
So to eleviate this issue, Nissin Foods (a Japanese company who makes Ramen-style noodles) has created a fork that could save you from, either, the pain of hearing someone slurp noodles or the pain that will be inflicted on you for slurping noodles in front of your Misphonia-afflicted friend.
Here is the part that has brought a lot of criticism to Nissin Foods…it is absolutely ridiculous. It is a fork that links to your smart phone through Bluetooth and uses a built-in microphone and creates a wave sound that covers up the slurping sound.
Oh…and it costs $130!
I love the commercial they have created to introduce this product. These people are so excited to try this enormous fork that links to their smartphone. See for yourself.
