Kudos to this PNC bank manger for doing what he can to help a woman who was scammed.
She went in the other day to withdraw $15,000. She had told the manager that she won a jackpot through Publishers Clearing House. The reason she was withdrawing the money, is because she had to ‘send the money in.’
Publishers Clearing House does not have a ‘purchase to enter’ policy. Nor would they be having anybody send money of that amount to them to claim a jackpot. That’s more deliberate than the government dipping it’s hands into your Powerball winning first.
“Hey, give us a lot of money so we can then give you a lot of money in return.”
This was a very, very old woman. And I feel bad because these things have totally happened to my Grandma Alice before.
Props to the bank manager, though. He was listening to the story she was telling him and he told her she was being scammed. He didn’t withdraw the money for her. He called police, actually, and they are not investigating,
