It was Jason (KGRS morning host) and me on an afternoon where we had zero food in our bellies. We looked at each other and with telepathic like stares we both agreed we should get some serious grub at Uncle Ronnie’s in West Burlington.
It was just meant to be.
You can practically get something new every time you walk into Uncle Ronnie’s. They have an extensive selection with not a bad thing on the menu. In fact, every day for Restaurant Week, they have a different lunch special for only $8. Going to Uncle Ronnie’s every day is a little of what I picture heaven like.
I tend to gear toward their seafood, specifically the salmon because it’s unlike any salmon I’ve ever had. And I’ve eaten A LOT of salmon in my life. I feel bad for the species.
The green beans were done perfectly and the mashed potatoes had a little volcano of gravy. Plus, with the Parmesan garlic sauce, mixing all of it together into one bite on your fork will send your taste buds to the moon.
We were obviously feeling some fish that day and Jason ordered the fish sandwich, which is their $8 lunch special this Friday. All of that for $8?!? You’d think we’re kidding, but no. It’s amazing how much love Uncle Ronnie’s puts into making your food look visually appealing. Something that looks amazing will most definitely taste amazing. Ronnie’s knows that.
I had to order a salad too so my mother would be proud of me.
You can find Uncle Ronnie’s On Derek Lincoln Drive in West Burlington right behind Bickel’s. Can’t make it to the Hawkeye game but still want the best seat in the house? Uncle Ronnie’s has got you covered on that seat.
Get over there during Restaurant Week and post some pictures of yourself! We’d love to see you! #GBRW
